The Yonkers Mexican community is coming together to celebrate Mexican Independence with a street fair featuring food, music, family-friendly games, and great food.

Mexico's Independence Day celebrates the date of 1810 when Miguel Hidalgo, priest and leader who fought for the independence of the country against Spain, gave The Cry of Independence in the town of Dolores in what is today the state of Hidalgo.
