WESTCHESTER COUNTY DA: A Yonkers High School Teacher Accused In The Sexual Assault Of A Student

YONKERS NY (WESTCHESTER COUNTY) NY: Saunders Trades and Technical High School teacher #JamesKorwatch began an inappropriate relationship with the then 17-year-old student in 2021 and that relationship escalated to physical and sexual violence as well as physical and verbal intimidation and coercion, according to court papers filed by Westchester County District Attorney #MiriamRocah's Office

James Korwatch is a 49-year-old carpentry teacher at the school and a resident of the Village of #Ossining, New York.

He was charged with Criminal Sexual Act 1, a Class B Violent Felony in the New York State Penal Law and Stalking 1, a Class D Violent Felony in the New York State Penal Law.

The case is being prosecuted by the #WestchesterCounty District Attorney’s Office.
