HOLLYWOOD ON THE HUDSON: Yonkers Has Quickly Grown As A Filming Destination

YONKERS (WESTCHESTER COUNTY) NY: Five shows filmed scenes in Yonkers and received over 60 Emmy Award nominations for their work and the success is anchored in Yonkers where leaders like Mayor #MikeSpano and Yonkers City Council man John Rubbo, who have worked hard to establish the city as a television and movie-friendly place -- including the recently opened Lionsgate Studios by the waterfront.

There was even a watch party was held at Yonkers Brewing Co. to commemorate the shows that were filmed in the city.

And Great Point Studios has pledged half a billion dollars to expand its film studio campus here in the city to make it among the biggest spaces on the east coast.

The city is also aiming to open a new media arts middle and high school to help make the entertainment industry more diverse and to produce local jobs by 2024.

Soon young bright and diverse voices from The City of Yonkers are going to be making an impact in the film industry, because of these successes by the mayor and his supporters to create Hollywood On The Hudson in the city of hills.
